Photo by Joe Silveira on our way to City Hall

I got married on the last day of September 4:30pm at City Hall. In the morning we walked up to the flower stores for some roses (some of which would be applied to the next day’s croque-en-bouche) and then spent the rest of the day relaxing, drinking lapsang tea and getting ready. I recommend getting married late in the afternoon on a Saturday, especially if you live, like me, a short 10 minute walk to City Hall - I was nervous about “wearing bridal” on the street but it was actually so special and nice - plus all the concrete was a perfect backdrop for the silk, tulle and pearls. Some close friends joined us for the ceremony and it was all so simple and fun and EASY. We went to dinner after the ceremony (just the two of us) to Twenty Victoria which was the best service experience I’ve had dining out in recent memory. At the end of the meal they presented us with a mini wedding cake! Classic vanilla with lemon curd, tiers and everything.

Wedding day roses, baby’s breath, calissons… also so fun to have an instant camera at the wedding for immediacy
