Cinnamon Toast
When was the last time you had cinnamon toast? I don’t think I have since I was little- but I got this beautiful sourdough loaf from RPM Bakehouse’s Toronto pop-up (held every Monday through January and beyond at 20 Victoria) and thought to make it. I love a high/low combo so making toast with bread made from special flours including Hard Red Spring Wheat, Red Clawson, Rouge de Bordeaux, Hazelet Rye and slathering it with a mash of softened salted butter, sugar, cinnamon, a touch of vanilla bean paste (toasted in the oven at 350 degrees and broiled on high at the end) was so pleasurable and satisfying to eat. This pairs nicely with an afternoon coffee.
